When Liz is editing and finishing a new project, she is in her happy place. She became fascinated with film and special effects in her childhood. Watching fantasy epics inspired Liz and she soon realized, ““That’s what I want to do.” Although she didn’t quite know what “that” was, she knew technology and art needed to be part of her career path. After attending Philadelphia University to study Interactive Design and Media, Liz began working at Philadelphia agencies where she was able to hone her skills and dial into her talent for editing. She enjoys helping others communicate their stories visually and is constantly inspired by the human elements in her work. Liz was already a dedicated storyteller when she started working on the post-production team at Bowstring.
As she says, “A lot of times we can get caught up in the pixels and frames and meters, but at the end of the day it’s important to remember that we are telling someone’s story. It’s about making someone feel and understand concepts and humans better. And ultimately, if the story isn’t right…the whole piece suffers”.
Liz is a natural creative and loves collaborating with others on the team to produce our best work. She is also a big fan of the state-of-the-art technology available to play with around the office, especially in the theatre. When she isn’t at the studio, Liz tries to get outside as much as possible to take photographs and play with different natural lighting. She also relaxes by working in her garden, enjoying some good wine, and dabbling in the fine arts.
